Pricing By Bluing Method *Cold Bluing – Touch Up Bluing small parts $50.00 Best Suited for small touch-ups but doesn’t offer deep, long-lasting protection *Hot Bluing (Standard/Oxynate) $200.00-$450.00 *Slow Rust Bluing $350.00-$1200.00 Highly Labor Intensive, multi-day process usually reserved for fine shotguns, older lever actions, or historical restorations. Most firearms prior to 1940 were rust blued, some can be hot blued depending on parts and manufacturing processes. Pricing by Firearm Type Handguns (Pistols and Revolvers) $200.00-$400.00 Double Barrel Shotguns $400.00-$1200.00 These require meticulous slow-rust bluing because hot salts can melt the soft solder joints binding the barrels together. High Polish Finish $200.00 Added to the base rate, requires polishing out scratches and pitting to a mirror like shine. Additional Fees & Considerations Disassembly/Reassembly $100.00-$200.00 If you drop off a fully assembled firearm, this shop charges a tear-down and assembly fee. Prep Work for Pitting $85.00/Hr If the gun is rusty or pitted, extra hours are required to polish the metal. Modern Lever Action (post 1964) $100.00+ Rifles- like the Winchester 94 have alloyed steel receivers that won’t take standard hot bluing, often adding $100.00+ to the cost for specific matte or specialty fininshes. Note: Older original antique firearms may lose considerable collector value if re-blued.
